Why Women’s Month IS NOT CANCELED: Celebrating International Women’s Day for ALL Women
by Rose Kaz
Contrary to Global Leadership trends, specifically American 'leadership', Women are pretty damn powerful and we aren't going anywhere but forward!
Women’s History Month isn’t just about looking back—it’s about moving ahead. It’s about celebrating the women who built bridges where there were none, fought battles that should have never needed fighting, and created opportunities that generations before us could only dream of.
And, let’s be real, progress doesn’t happen just because we mark a date on the calendar. It happens when we show up, keep showing up, take the needed pauses to care for ourselves, support each other, and ensure that the stories of all women—not just the most visible ones—are cherished, honored, and championed.

And this is why we keep showing up. Because history tells us that when women take the lead, entire communities thrive. When we center the voices of those most often left out—women of color, LGBTQ+ women, women with disabilities—we’re not just making space, we’re creating a future where everyone belongs.
As the National Society of Leadership and Success states, “Women’s history is a story of inspiration and strength, but also one of struggle and perseverance.” Put plainly, we are resilient AF! So, we keep pushing, building, and making room for the next wave of women leaders, innovators, and change-makers.
Yes! March is a time to celebrate, reflect, and take action. International Women’s Day (March 8) and Women’s History Month shine a spotlight on the accomplishments of women throughout history. But not every city is popping bottles and dancing in the street. In fact, many are uprising, marching for the daily murders, kidnapping and continued subjection of women and femmes as 'other' or not as valued in cultures as men. And so whether we are marching, shouting, singing or toasting, it’s imperative to acknowledge that the fight for equality has not been equally inclusive globally.
As in much of the world's history, mainstream narratives have focused on light-skinned women, leaving out the incredible contributions of Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian, and other women of color who have played a vital role in shaping our world. Women’s rights must be about ALL women—because history tells us that when we advocate for those most marginalized, we create a better world for everyone. Because she gets what she needs for herself, her legacy and her community, does not mean he gets any less. In fact, it is a studied and proven fact that when women are supported, the entire ecosystem around us flourishes.

As we celebrate Women’s History Month, let’s make sure we’re honoring ALL women—not just the ones history has conveniently spotlighted or in the ways which current 'leadership' thinks are empowering.
True equity means making space for every woman to thrive, especially those who have been historically excluded.
We do this everyday by supporting women-owned businesses, mentoring women & femme forward folks, and actively advocating for change in our workplaces and communities.
When one woman rises, we all rise.
Please remember this month is not just about celebrating the history that has paved the way for our current, lived experiences—it’s about ensuring and shaping the future.
We have to build a world where every woman has the resources, connections, and opportunities to thrive.
After all, we are the leaders we've been looking for!
So get out there and celebrate, shout, march, stomp, write, call your representatives and keep showing up for Women, this month and every month. Here’s to ALL the women shaping what’s next! ✨
💋,
Rose
