AI, Empathy & Business 4 Good
by Rose Kaz
I’m not waiting until the next election to build better! HBU?
The internet as we know it isn’t broken—it just wasn’t built for everyone. And whilst it would be really fun to break the internet, I'd rather us just buy it back. Since 2020, I’ve been working to do just that by creating a more equitable digital landscape where entrepreneurs can access the tools and resources we all need to thrive.
Do you know what the biggest barrier to entry is? Spoiler alert: THERE ARE MANY!!
First, knowing that these resources even exist!
Second, is having a clear understanding of how to actually reach the people - those who have the resources aka get past the gatekeepers! And even just sharing the word effectively about the business resources that exist aka breaking down said gatekeepers is a whole flipping thing! Truth be told, this is the WHY for my build of Business 4 Good.
Pictured above is me, Rose Kaz, serial entrepreneur, builder of businesses that give a damn and major hype girl for other businesses that do the same! This photo was captured by one of my awesome associate photographers whom I had the joy to work with when I owned & operated a digital media company from 2014-2024. As part of on of our brand's quarterly trainings, I produced and directed collaborations with area high schools & university programs to ensure working creative professionals could train along side upcoming talent from under served communities. This helped to build a strong pipeline of creative entrepreneurs, support local business and effectively lean into our HI = human intelligence. I share this here as my deep seeded believe in mentorship, understanding of the power of caring community, and our shared human experience being key in advancing business AND technology.
My love for equity focused business wasn't the only thing that has informed my 2020 business transition from being an analogue to digital converter as a leader of my digital media company. It was actually my empathy which led me to create a digital platform that prioritizes accessibility, and over the past four years, that same empathy has revealed something even bigger:
Entrepreneurs, especially we women, don’t just need better access to funding and business tools. We also need tech we can trust and understand to assist us to propel ourselves and our communities forward in both getting those resources and best utilizing & expounding on them in our respective lanes.
As AI continues evolving at insanely quick quips, we need to ensure that it doesn’t replicate the same broken systems of bias, power-hoarding, and exclusion that we’ve spent decades fighting against in the analogue world. AI is being built right now—and if we don’t actively shape its foundation with inclusion and ethics in mind, we risk a future where the digital patriarchy continues to goes viral...or vial. Either way, no thanks!
🤖 Teaching AI to Work for Us, Not Against Us
In this inanely rapid evolving digital landscape, the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into various sectors has become ubiquitous. However, since the development of AI systems has not really ever prioritized inclusivity, biases that reflect the limited diversity within the tech industry are wildly rampent.
This oversight risks perpetuating existing societal inequalities on a digital scale.
This results in AI algorithms that inadvertently encode biases, particularly against women and people of color. And trust, these biases can manifest in so many applications, from facial recognition technology to hiring algorithms, leading to discriminatory outcomes.

If we really want to prevent the digital replication of existing power imbalances in the non digital world, also known as IRL- in real life- it’s so important for women in business to harness AI instead of turn and look away.
I am not here trying to build a better pipeline of tech talent to late stage capitalism, toxic tech corporations that often don't really give a damn about it's diversity as shown by so many corporations dropping their DEI initiatives. Also, its worth noting many major 'tech companies' like X ( Twitter), Meta ( Facebook, Instagram, What's App) and even Tik Tok are really just marketing companies dressed in a fancy tech cloak.
And whilst inclusive teams are absolutely better equipped to identify and mitigate biases to ensure that AI systems serve all segments of society equitably, that's not enough. (Wharton Knowledge)
I'm here to encourage those of us on the outside of corporate powers that be to power up our AI know how and interactions.
Demystifying tech and leaning into our ur human intelligence ( HI) and empathy can play a crucial role kindly bossing these bots that we didn't building in the first place. This human-centric approach not only helps us as women in business to keep our tools sharp and current, but it also helps inform a broader experience in identifying potential biases during the development phase. (Minter Dial)
As AI becomes increasingly integrated into leadership and decision-making processes, the importance of our participation as women leaders who lean into empathy and emotional intelligence in can't be overstated. Leaders who exhibit empathy are better positioned to navigate the complexities of AI integration, ensuring that technological advancements align with human values and ethical considerations. (Forbes)
💡 Want to integrate better tech into your business?
Start by taking a Business Spring Cleaning session with me. We’ll refine your digital tools, remove what’s not working, and set you up with systems that actually serve you and your business.
Let’s talk about money. Because while AI is evolving, so is the opportunity gap. Women, especially BIPOC & Queer Women, continue to receive just a fraction of available funding, making it harder to scale businesses and invest in the tech they need. The economic imbalance isn’t just frustrating—it’s structurally embedded in how business has always been done.
That’s where ethically designed AI and access to capital intersect. Imagine AI-powered funding tools that actually work for women entrepreneurs, identifying the best funding sources without bias, rather than auto-rejecting applicants based on outdated credit systems.
🚀 Need help finding capital for your business?
Check out Finding Funding for Women in Business where I guide women entrepreneurs through securing funding with confidence (no jargon, no gatekeeping, just real opportunities). Also, peep platforms like Carta, Gust, Pulley, FounderSuite, Visible, and CakeEquity as viable AI tools helping founders bridge financial and operational gaps, ensuring they can access capital and manage it effectively. BUT / AND consumers of AI also need to ensure these tools are used properly.
As your tech bestie in this AI express lane, I promise to be on the front line of that fire hose to keep you best informed. Always promising no jargon, no gatekeeping and absolutely no gaslighting!
Organizations like All Tech is Human and Humma.AI are leading efforts to ensure that AI is built with diverse voices at the table. They’re proving that technology can be a tool for equity, not oppression. Similarly, the Ethical Tech Collective emphasizes that the future of AI must include everyone, reflecting the full spectrum of humanity in its design and implementation.
Beyond funding, tools like Qapita, Upmetrics, Bizplanr, AngelMatch, and Cuttles are creating accessible solutions for business growth, operational efficiency, and strategic planning. These platforms empower entrepreneurs with the insights and infrastructure needed to grow and sustain their businesses successfully.

Empathy is our competitive advantage. If we want AI to work for us, we have to lead with intention, demand ethical development, and boss the bots before they boss us. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this—how do you see AI impacting your business, and where do you want to see it go from here? Let’s build this future together. I want for us all to be included in the future and the wealth inherently made of all.
🤔 What Do You Think?
AI and empathy are shaping the future of business, but the conversation is far from over.

What challenges do you see in making AI more inclusive? Drop your thoughts—I’d love to hear from you!
Tag me ( & this post ) on LinkedIn and share your thoughts so the bots can learn from YOU. We might as well give them something to talk about and whilst we have their attention, we can lovingly train those bots to do better.
I will be leading talks on this subject both online (LinkedIn because Meta can get outta my digital life) on the private portal for LBI Digital and in person - Portland, OR area for Q1 & Q2
Let's change this world because We Are the Leaders We've Been Waiting for! So let's build business 4 good , together.
