AI Women Leaders to the Front

Why We Need to Step Up & How We are Going to Do It
by Rose Kaz

Let’s be real: AI is here to stay, and it’s changing the way we work, live, and even how we define success.

Whether we’re ready for it or not, AI is rewriting the rules—and we can either get on board or get left behind.

Here’s the thing: Women have been left out of tech advancements for way too long and I say we should change that. What do you think?

Seriously. I want to know. Please read through this and then tag me on LinkedIn. I'd love to know what you're thoughts are. If we don’t step up now, the wage gap will continue to grow, and we’ll keep missing out on leadership roles and financial independence. I’m not willing to let that happen and I'm willing to bet you agree.

So today, in advance of Women's History month and with a a kick-off party on Int'l Women's Day, I’m launching AI Women Leaders—a community for women who are curious about AI. I'm deliberately including women who are already working in tech so we can link arms and do this AI revolution together.

The mission of the group is for women who want to understand and leverage AI, not just to keep up, but to lead the way.

But here’s the kicker: You don’t have to be a techie to be part of this group. In fact, I’m betting a lot of you aren’t. Whether you’re in marketing, healthcare, education, real estate, finance, or you’re just plain curious—you have a place here.

Why Women Can’t Afford to Ignore AI

AI isn’t just another tech buzzword—it’s a revolution that’s changing every industry. From healthcare to education, marketing to finance, AI is everywhere. And if we don’t learn how to use it, we risk being left behind in careers we’ve worked hard to build.

This isn’t about learning to code (although, if that’s your jam, we’re here for it). It’s about understanding how AI can help us work smarter, not harder. Whether you’re a teacher using adaptive learning tools, a real estate agent using predictive property valuation, or a marketer leveraging AI for customer insights, this technology is changing the way we do business.

And the better we understand it, the better we can leverage it to grow.

I’ve seen this firsthand in my own career. As the Founder of LBI Digital and Business 4 Good, I’ve built and led tech-forward entrepreneurial communities, empowering businesses with the tools to scale. And now, as a current student in MIT’s AI program, I’m diving even deeper into the future of AI. I’m committed to sharing that knowledge with as many women as I can because we can’t afford to be left behind.

Why AI Isn’t Just for Techies

One of the biggest misconceptions about AI is that it’s only for engineers, data scientists, or tech professionals. But the truth is, AI is changing every industry. And if we’re not part of the conversation, we risk being left behind—again. I argue that this moment in the technology time line of our humanity will be leveled because of AI. In fact, I believe AI to be the great equalizer and here is why.

Technology has always been pushed forward by those who have money and thereby those who have power. And since we women only were granted access to have our own bank accounts in 1978- yes 1978, not 1878 or 1778, 1978 !!! Notably, that access was only for white women. It took far longer for our sisters of color to get that same access. And there are still too many places in this world where we woman cannot open our own account without a man. And so money is tied to technology and technology is tied to money. We've made great progress and need to continue on that trajectory forward, not backwards.

I don’t want any woman to feel like she doesn’t belong in tech. And I certainly don’t want any woman to feel like she can’t learn about AI because she’s “not a techie.” You belong here, and you can do this. AI isn’t just for coders. It’s for anyone who wants to stay relevant, informed, and empowered. And that’s exactly why I’m bringing together techies and non-techies—because we need each other.

Why We Need Both Techies and Non-Techies

We need to unite both women working with tech and those of us who think we are not exactly 'techies' because that’s how we’ll shape AI from all angles. Techies bring the technical know-how, while non-techies bring fresh perspectives and industry insights.

Together, we can lead with empathy and inclusion and design AI solutions that work for everyone.

We’re done letting tech bros have all the fun (and all the money). It’s time for us to step up to the plate and close the wage gap and AI can help us to do just hat.

I’ve spent my career at the intersection of tech, community, and creative innovation. I know what it’s like to navigate spaces that weren’t built for us. But I also know the power of community, mentorship, and collaboration.

AI Women Leaders is about more th a n just learning—it’s about growing together. It’s about leading with empathy and lifting each other up because we’re stronger together.
